A Fair Oaks rooster roaming the streets.

Leafless oaks, frost, and distant snow captivated me to paint this late winter/ early spring scene because I feel the need to chronicle the ever changing landscape around this lake. It makes for diverse and unique subject matter.

The Lake in Winter

Although the lake landscape is somewhat colorless in late winter I was happy to find a warm enough day to be able to paint on location. The barren landscape has a beauty of it’s own and I think it’s worthwhile to paint versions of the lake in all seasons.
