American Robin in my backyard

Showing the process that I’ve used to create this painting, I’m hoping to impart some knowledge about the initial drawing and how much easier it is to “lift” color to draw your subject than it is to draw the perfect outlines and then “fill in”.

These robins have been hanging out in my backyard and eating the remains of the last  hanging apples. According to birding experts the song of the robin is: “cheerily, cheer-up, cheerio”, and then continuously repeated. Who wouldn’t like that?
